Matt,

The fog-lights-below-the-bumper thing is fraught with peril, in that they are so much more easily damaged because of the location. There was a nice after market kit put out by Projekzwo at one time, but it was discontinued. It was an extension of the lower grille on each side and had a place in it for the fog light as well as a place to remount the turnsignal lights.

I am working on a replacement for that foglight kit. A list member has loaned me a pair of the plastics from the kit to work with, and right now I am trying to find a suitable lamp and hardware which mount in the new plastic grille pieces. I chatted with HellaUSA and didn't really get any satisfaction there. I wanted the original light that Projekswo had in their kit, and actually came up with the number for it but HellaUSA couldn't find it for me. Finally said it simply wasn't available in the USA. I didn't really care for the other options, so I am still looking. I really want a lamp that is easily replaceable here in the USA and Canada. Modifications involving acquisition of parts from foreign countries becomes problematical. . Homegrown is best.

Anyhow, the work is still in progress. When I get this lamp thing resolved, the project should move along a bit more quickly. I will keep the list up to speed on this as it happens.

Regards,

John Rodgers 88 GL Driver
