If you want to paint them,you must first strip them bare.I once used a spray paint from a can of satin black from Advance auto .Very pretty,but they chipped whenever a key got within 20 feet of them.Didnt strip them bare,I am told. I am now testing POR15 chassis black on them,with POR15 clear as a base. Looks same as oem.Wont chip.May sell some that are keyed to your ignition ,some day.Try reversing the ones youhave.The left will fit on the right,and vice vers.The underside paint is still good,in most cases.
