The remote filter is a great idea. Then you can deal with unexpected hose failures while away from home. Hey, stop driving cause you may get a flat or a blow out. And when you do, don't chance that wheel cause you may break or strip a stud.

Take the switch out and be sure to remove it by turning it counter-clockwise. If the threads do come out, Use a 1/8 pipe nipple (tapered threads) and a coupling. The threads are close enough to get in there and hold. The threads in the case are deeper than used by the sensor so there are new threads for the nipple. I doubt you will have the same experience twice. I know this is not proper but I know a number of folks that have done this for gauges.

I like the idea of a remote oil filter.Genius. Not gonna touch that switch!! Z-man. Stop whining?It's getting to be good vintage. I say it is true that it is one in a million to ripout the threads.So why did it happen to my other Vanagon?What could be said if it happened again? Dont think anyone would want hear about that one.Ill check the filter out.Any more ideas,besides getting a Ford? Roger
