Folks,

90 vanagon

Does anyone recall how the little instrument panel lights pop out of their small square reflectors? eg. the ones that illuminate the spedometer and tach. Logic tells me they turn but in my case they are tight and do not do so, and I am afraid to break the plastic.

I can slide the reflector box off the top of the housing but the light removal alludes me!!

thanks -john

John,

I must admit I haven't touched mine in a while (not since I removed them and added small pieces of blue gel from stage lights under the lamps to give the dash a gentle blue hue) however from memory they twist 90 degrees and will (should!) pop right out. Apply gentle but firm pressure as you twist and they should definitely yield before anything breaks. They can indeed be a tight fit but they will come out...
