Subject: FS: 2.1L engine & trans (as-is)
Content-Type: text/plain; charset="us-ascii"

For Sale:

1987 2.1L engine, about 100k miles, ran well when pulled out of the Vanagon 10 years ago, but has now spent the last 10 years sitting in my yard with a tarp haphazardly draped over it so it probably needs disassembly by now. I drove the van it was in about 2-1/2 hours nonstop before pulling the engine. It ran very strong and did not overheat during the trip; however the coolant tended to back up a bit into the resorvoir after extended driving (I noticed this and the PO had also mentioned it). The engine is relatively complete, intake to exhaust. No distributor or air flow meter.

4 speed trans from same vehicle; worked fine when pulled ten years ago.

$250 for the engine (which is much less than its core value as a longblock). $150 for the trans. Or both for $350.

Must pick up at my home in Perkiomenville, PA. If you are coming to Buses By The Depot next weekend (or know someone who is) you will be right around the corner.
