I'm answering before I look at any other replies! I did much the same to my van, though mine might have been a bit less dented, and the damage was further back, on the rear wheel well. I spent almost $1000 to have it fixed.

And then a month later I hit another pole and put another scrape on the slider. It's still there.

I don't get mad, or in a rush - I'm just a clutz! I get really mad at myself - I have done things like this on every vehicle I've ever had. But then I remember that I've never had a car accident where anything was damaged worse than that, or anyone was hurt. Which helps a lot in putting things in perspective.
