Blue Westfalia full camper. Selling privately, purchased from a long-time customer and acquaintance of mine who is elderly and no longer camping. He owned it for roughly 12 years and maintained it regularly (much of the time dealer-serviced). The original owners manual, camper supplement, and full stack of repair records are included.

4 speed, air conditioning (works), power windows (work), central locking system (doesn't work), factory cruise control (doesn't work). AM/FM/CD Changer with subwoofer. Roof rack. Bra.

Body in good shape, previous seam rust on one side properly repaired (new metal welded in). Needs a good buffing.

Has a new poptop canvas, but needs a poptop seal. Camper interior in decent but not perfect shape (a few dings in cabinet doors, etc.). Previous owner tells me all appliances work (did not verify, but like I said I know/trust him). Accessories (tables, mosquito screens) are present. Sliding door interior panel is shot. Tank water inlet cover broken and a piece of black plastic screwed on in its place.

Runs and drives well. I had it checked out after purchase by a local Vanagon specialist who gave it a clean bill of health; they found no coolant leaks, no significant oil leaks, felt it ran well, etc.. The van has 197k miles on it, with a rebuilt trans and clutch ($2200) at 126k miles, new head gasket at 179k miles, new steering rack at 156k, new alternator at 189k, and plenty of other routine maintance/replacement as needed through the years. The only mechanical issue I know of is that he has had an ongoing problem (over a long, long time) of the coolant level light flashing intermitantly. It does not overheat, nor does the temp gauge read high, but the light flashes as though it's low on coolant even though it's not. He replaced the sender twice to no avail. He said it happens randomly; sometimes you start the engine and it flashes, sometimes not. I drove it twice; once it flashed, once not. I may have it looked at if time allows; I'm assuming a wiring problem since the sender was replaced. Also the tires (reinforced Michelins) have okay tread but some sidewall cracking.

$6900. Located in Perkiomenville, PA. Email me if interested.

- Ron Salmon
