My condolences. Many years ago I was in the Air Force with a fellow named Mike. A big, rangy guy, Mike was an enthusiastic mechanic who occasionally was known to make a bad situation worse.

I was watching him rotate the tires on his old '50s-vintage Jeep station wagon and he was snugging down the last of the lug nuts with a 4-way wrench and snapped one of them off. Naturally, he sought to vent and slammed the driver's door, which happened to have the window rolled down. That, of course, shattered the door glass. "Pulling a Mike" was the phrase that grew out of that episode, and I have been known to display that behavior myself.

It's never productive, but almost always makes for a good story later if you can bring yourself to tell it.

Stephen
