yesterday was  the annual fall "VW Show and Go" at Raceway park in
Englishtown NJ..vw show, and swap meet..  it was beautiful weather  sunny and low 70's..
  there were a few nice baywindow westys, and a few nice splitties, including
a beautiful '63 double door 23 window microbus...  yep...it had cargo doors
both sides..  and a sunroof..     a rare bird..  in the swap area, there was a
beautiful blue aircooled '80 vanagon doublecab that was formerly owned by a
local vw dealership..

anyway, there were 3 watercooled vanagons in the show..   mine,  a fellow
from NY with a white '90 westy, and listmember bryan belman from NJ with his
beautiful completely restored '82 blue diesel westy w/ 1.9L diesel..  if it wasnt
for vanagons being "unibody" then i'd call this a body off restoration..  the
van was taken down to a shell and completely redone..  its so clean you could
eat off the engine..and thats saying alot for a diesel! :<)   anyway Bryan
took first place in the watercooled vanagon class..and he deserved it.. i just
want to congratulate him on his win..
congratulations!
i saw a few other listmembers there too..
it was a great show, the last one for the year for use east coasters..

hope to see more vanagons next year!
