I am trying to adjust the valves in a 1.9 with 200K. When I find TDC in cyl 1 , and rotate the crankshaft to get TDC in the cylinder I want to adjust, the amount I finally adjust the valve to is suspect. The lifters seem to be very mushy. I can push them in by hand, real far, even after the adjustment is made, easily. When I adjust to 0 lash + 1/3 turn, I get lots of abnormal clattering. Not a leaked down lifter. I am wondering if I am getting lash +1/3 turn wheIi am adjusting to that spec. When adjusted, I can twist the pushrod with my fingers, easily. Lots of clatter.Wondering if I am getting 0 lash.
