Yes, I was talking about a catalytic heater, specifically the Platinum
Cat. I'm not saying it is better than a Propex forced air furnace, just
a different type of heat. Depends on what you need and what you like.
For me, having a radiant heat meant that I could have my slider open
while sitting next to the heater. With a forced air furnace you want to
keep the hot air inside, so you keep the door shut. Sometimes when I
get cold while hiking or skiing and radiant heater will do a better job
of getting me warmed up. That's why I miss the qualities of a catalytic
heater. Plus, it makes less noise.
By the way, it would be nice to know who I am writing to...
