I installed a 1/2"barbed end gas valve in the hose between the tank and the fuel pump. I rarely use it for theft deterrent, but it works great when it's time to change fuel pump or filter. I got it at the local hardware store. It's easy to reach if you know where it is. Never checked it for "range" to see how far the van will run before it runs out of fuel, but it can't be very far !!

as far as stereo goes, I bought a wonderful(like 8 years old) Sony XCR6100 stereo that has CD changer capability, but has cassette playing too. I hide the CD changer in the console between the front seat and no crook is going to try to steal a stereo with a cassette slot in it; detachable face or not!!

Good luck with your theft prevention plan.
