That is the method I referred to earlier in this thread. I have not done this myself, I have merely spoken with someone who had it installed. The 14 pin connector of the instrument cluster has a green wire and a brown wire running to it. Run a wire from each of these to a small switch. When the switch is closed, the ignition coil will not get pulsed and there will be no spark. The fuel pump will run and so on but no spark. I don't know what problems if any may result. All 2.1 models have the green wire. For 1.9 only a few 84 and most 85 have it, only the 1.9 models with tachs.
