Hi Tom,

No long-distance award, sorry! But if you come, we'll give you one, how's that? Unless someone else comes from even further.

But regarding putting faces to names, Larry Chase and I are plotting a new addition to his website, inspired by the reactions I've gotten to these photos - "people of the community," he suggested we call it. Photos of people in the Vanagon community, so we can all put more faces to names!

I'm culling my photos, and the rest of you might do that too! Larry is putting his mind to the software, since he already has the general setup for getting lots of photos up. Presumably he'll password protect it, as some people may have concerns about being included in such a site otherwise.

So look out for the grand announcement and photo request soon! And next time you're at Vanagon events, folks, take photos of each other instead of photos of vans! After all, we all know what vans look like, but we don't all know each other.

Joy

p.s. Hmm, maybe before the photo site actually goes public we should have the guessing contest - "what do you think thus-and-such a person looks like?" The person who comes closest wins? I don't know what they'd win - ESP award? Of course only people who have never met the people they are guessing about could enter. :-) I've already gotten some emails along the lines of "gee, that's not what I thought Ron Salmon looked like!"

Larry, we'll have to work out the logistics of this contest, it could be pretty funny!
