They are 10 feet long!!!!! Includes the 3 stainless steel wire bails that attach tehm to the frame. My early 85 that came with steel tubes ,had the slots for these bails.Dont know about 83.5 or 84. It is not difficult to reuse the steel bands that the steel coolant tubes use for this. It was a snap to install them.Gotta remove the gas tank,though. Good time to reseal it. Also to put in new PS lines. I have them too.And many other low mileage stuff from this Vanagon. Here is a partial list,working from the front to the back of the Vanagon:: Front condenser,complete front suspension with 62K with cast iorn lower control arm( may be worth installing with existion balljoints and bushings),bumper is in good condition w/good chrome,radiator fan/schroud,PS lines,gas tank plastic stuff for resealing,Fuel pump/mount,Automatic transmission shifter and shift rod,cables,glove box,dash cover(brown)Front window glass and vent wings,side slider windows,rear side windows,sliding door hinges and rollers. steering column cover(brown),various interior trim, igniton switch and door handles and rear hatch lock(with key),Batery cables.Neg and positive(7 ft long!!!),Ps pump and hoses, Alt and mount, PS fluid resovour, intake runners,Starter for autometic, flex plate, torque converter,final drive w/62K,valve body for trans,thermistat housing, upper and lower coolant cross over pipes,3 groove pulley,auxillery air regulater,dist,breather tower, (((two rear hubs with new brake shoes/slave cylinders/cv axels for automatic cleaned and regreased, parking brake cables,inner outter grease seals( all as one unit. Replace all with one fell swoop- good for ahigh mileage vanagonwith automatic-includes wheelbearings for rear)(I said it was ready for inspection)))),Dip stick,two cylinder heads with 62K (needs JB welding for the pitting),Pistons can be used for ash trays if your single :>),blah blah blah,Various other items that need a new home.
