Snow shovel?

Body heat?

Actually that's serious - a pair of sleeping bags that can zip together would certainly be warmer than two separate ones.

Lots of good plans for what to do in the daytime when you don't want curl up in your sleeping bags to keep warm! In my experience sleeping in a cold van isn't a problem as long as you keep your toes and your ears warm - but spending the day in it if you don't have someplace else you want to go is really hard.

And plan on Buses by the Bridge in January - it's lovely weather in Arizona then! :-)
