Subject: Need some help with paint matching...
Content-Type: text/plain; charset="ISO-8859-1"

Hi everyone,

I recently did some body work on my Silver 88 Wolfsburg, with 214,600 miles on it!, sanding out rust, doing the por15 treatments, then straight-line body filler by POR15, the etched primer etc.. I also painted my my grey bumpers black, it looks really good in my opinion. I also painted the front grill with a black trim paint by Duplicolor which came out great.

Well herešs where the problems is... Anyway I was in hurry and when I put the color chip they gave me up to the van I swore it looked right. But later when I looked it, it was way to silver and not enough grey! I sprayed the touch up paint over all the areas I worked on and now my van has this nice bright silver all over where I did the repairs. It looks awful to me..

The problem is the previous owner painted the van and I can only assume they used a color that not the factory spec and it is slightly more grey and not as much silver! so now I am up the creek and have no idea how to get the proper color spec.

Anyone have any idea how I should address this problem other than taking to to get a brand new full body paint job?

Thanks for any help you might be able to provide.

Thanks in advance. rob -- Rob NYC/Long Beach, NY 88 Wolfsburg, Silver AIM: rmstewart@mac.com
