Well folks, it's going to become a reality, with your cooperation!

We are really going to create a website with photos of your favorite vanagonauts, so you can connect faces to names and email addresses.

But it can't happen unless you help. We need your pictures! Of yourself, or of anyone else who posts on the various VW bus lists, of folks who used to post, folks who have been banned from the list, folks who hide their posts under pseudonyms (Eric Z? Terry K?). Folks you like, folks you don't like, anyone you like as long as they are somehow part of the VW bus community!

Please email your photos to me. And here's some guidelines to get us going:

- Please keep photos of modest size. Definitely under 500K, smaller if possible.

- Please put "VW facebook photos" in the subject line. That will make it easier for me to automatically route photos into a separate file so they won't clog my inbox.

- Along with each photo, please make you sure you include the name of the person in the picture, her or his email address, and the name and email address of the photographer. If there are several people in the photo, please make sure you identify all of them. But solo photos will be easier for the VW facebook! If you can identify the general geographic location of the person (e.g. city or state, or "fulltiming, no fixed address"), that would be interesting as well. If you know the approximate date of the photos, that would be useful too.

- This site will be password protected so the general public can't look through it. But if there is anyone who does NOT want her or his photo up there, please let me know. If anyone sends in your picture, we'll pull it.

Please feel free to forward this email to VW bus lists that I am not on. This is an equal opportunity VW bus facebook!

And we'll put our mind to the most entertaining kind of contest to set up as we create the site. I'm leaning to the photo match - we give you a set of photos and a list of names, you have to match them! But you can only try with folks you've never met! We could try a beauty contest - but from what I've seen, I don't think anyone would win, with this crowd. :-)

I'm looking forward to getting your photos!

Joy
