Volks,

I'm staring down the barrel of a fuel tank replacement on my 1990 GL.
While I'm in there, does it make sense to replace the fuel sender?  My gas
gauge now functions like my parents' old bus's did: swings quite a bit
when the tank is less than half full, esp. when driving up and down hills.

Is the overreactive gauge just a function of tank layout, or is it
something I can fix while I've got the tank dropped?
