I once came upon a fellow mechanic who had inserted a slide hammer with
screw device into the trunk lock of his fairly nice 1972 Mecury Montego. He
had pulled the guts out of the lock so that he could open the trunk lid, in
the mistaken belief that he had locked his keys in the trunk.
He got it open all right.
He eventually discovered to his horror, that his keys were laying on the
rear bumper.
