Hi Volks, I think of the Smart as a 4-season motorcycle. It's compact, fuel efficient and adequate for at least 65% of my transportation needs. I can't fit a family of five inside one, but that really only accounts for around 10% of my driving, if that. I used to ride a motorcycle about 8 months of the year as a commuter vehicle until I changed jobs in 2000 and my employer supplied a late-model 4-door sedan. A Smart and a VW bus would cover 100% of my transportation needs. Unfortunately my employer prefers the 4-door.
