Subject: Gas tank install driving me nuts!!

OK, got everything I need (tank, grommets/vent hose, sender) and dropped the old tank.

However, I did not remove the gas filler neck. Seems very difficult to remove, but pulled it out enough so the old tank can be dropped.

After fitting the new grommets and sender, I placed the new tank in position and with much difficulty I have it mounted in place.

However, how does one fit the gas filler neck back - it won't budge!!

Furthermore, the vent hose on the driver's side doesn't seem to be accessable from the wheel well, so I can't get to it. Add to the fact it takes a can of WD40 and the power of Hercules to push it into the grommet.

Pls tell me I'm doing something wrong here!!
