David,

I agree it's difficult to find a shop where the people know what they are doing and care about service. Luckily there are still a few around that we can support.

Two tireshops that I happen to like in Edmonton:

----- Tirecraft Auto Center 13020 97 Street NW, Edmonton, AB T5E 4C6 (780) 475-9237

Ask for Donna. I got 4 Korean (to me unknown brand) Roadstone 195R14 from her 4 years ago for my '82 Westy. Quiet and has low rolling resistance so works well for my mostly summer, fall and spring use of the Westy. -----

A1 Tire & Battery Service Southside Ltd 7640 99 Street NW, Edmonton, AB T6E 3S4 (780) 432-0251

They've always been straight and friendly to me. Can get Agilis tires at reasonable prices. (Though obvioulsy not quite as low as costco)

Now what I'm really missing in Edmonton is a good hardware store. I hate to go to the big box Rona, Homedepot etc to spend an hour searching for (often in vain) misc basic hardware.

Martin
