Oh, dear, neither do I! And I, being a non-mechanic, actually followed the instructions in the Haynes the first time I changed my all with no one looking over my shoulder - they didn't mention a strainer screen.

Uh, would you please enlighten me?

Ditto for the strainer screen cover gasket and the sump screen?
