You missed the whole point of the article. It is not the taxes the man is going to court over, it is the huge and often hidden fees inexcess of $35 that UPS is charging to pay these taxes when places like the Post Office charge $5 for the exact same service. Usually UPS charges their "random amount" brokerage fee and another fee which is a percentage charged on the amount of tax they paid on behalf of the customer. Total bull and a total money grab. If the amount the Post Office charges is a mistake, you can keep your goods (pay the amount) and appeal the directly with Canada Customs and get a fairly prompt resolution. With UPS... forget it.
