Well Stephen that truly does suck. Here's to hoping that it will be found in a reasonable condition or that you'll be able to eventually replace it with an even better one without too great an expense. One thought I had that you might want to pursue: If you haven't already, look through all of your family photographs for the Jetta. You might be surprised to find it in the background of some pictures. Pictures of your other cars or the kids in the back yard might reveal a few decent shots of the Jetta as well. I thought of this because I recently discovered a bunch of pictures of a car I thought I had none of. They were pictures from a party and there she sat in the background looking very unforgiving for having been sold. Very sad!

Good luck.

PS. Nobody in my realm of influence was killed or maimed during our trail riding adventure in Wayne Nation Forest last weekend. The squad was called in for someone else though and I was happy to be the one who supplied the necessary map, directions and phone numbers. Saw several potentially avoidable breakdowns and far too many very green rookies with shiny new toys and locals with no protective gear. Jonathan even commented that it looked like we came well prepared. And with all the activity it felt like we were at an SCCA Solo II event. Thanks for the heads-up on the emergency aid issues. Oh and the camping was awesome as well. A bit cold but we had an awesome sky and the whole place to ourselves. And the best part... It was FREE!

Now, go find that Jetta!
