David is right on the money with this one. If you think Europe is bad, try importing OE product from Mexico sometime (they've been that way for almost two decades). Airhead/VWG Airhead has been waiting over 10 months for OE VW Steel Rims for 4 lug Bugs & Ghia. They "say" they will be delivered sometime in December. We're not holding our breath either. It's the manana mentality that infests them and other parts of the world, such as South Africa too.

When I got into this business 29 years ago, VW Owners (and freaks as well) of the time were a much more "patient lot" than they are now. There were many instances of items (most of it neat NOS) taking as long as 18 months to get here. I blame it on the "instant gratification" from things like the internet amongst other causes. Nothing bad or wrong with it though - I guess you could call it progress of a sorts. These are the times I wish the world would just slow down enough so I can catch my breath at times. -- Jim Thompson 84 Westfalia 2.1 "Ole Putt" 73 K Ghia Coupe "Denise" 72 411 Station Wagon "Pug" oldvolkshome@gmail.com http://www.oldvolkshome.com ********************************** On 10/28/06, David Marshall <mailinglist@fastforward.ca> wrote: > > They're not going to make a set just for you - I think they are waiting to > get a big enough back order to make a run happen.
