Ryan, I went from automatic to manual. It is doable. However, I did the change at the same time I did my engine conversion. I converted from VW engine and automatic to Porsche 911 engine and Porsche G50 transmission. While I'd say that the switch is doable, there are a lot of things that need to be changed. To accomplish this you would probably be best off having a parts van available. You will need the auto shift lever, shift console, all shift linkage, new bushings where appropriate (to replace the worn/missing ones that will likely be on the donor parts), transmission, axles (I believe that they are different with the auto), might as well do CVs if you are doing axles, flex plate, etc. Oh, and you will need a new pedal cluster, one without a clutch pedal. This part alone is a major pain to swap out. I'm sure that there is a lot of stuff that I am missing. I'm just trying to illustrate that it will take quite a bit of work and planning to pull it off.
