Salt and acid, and there are more ways to get salt on your car than just snow plows. The Pacific is way too salty for cars. Cars and trucks that live close to the ocean rust really badly. And I remember being horrified when we lived near Toronto for a few years to see the rust spots on my rotors from splasing rain drops; that stuff is corrosive.
