There is no need to take out the big nut. removed the 10mm (IIRC) drum retaining bolts. The drum should come right off. If not, smack the perimeter with a rubber or brass mallet. It should come off then. Then you can remove the rear studs by putting an old lugnut on it and hitting the nut with a suitable hammer. You can skip the lugnut if the studs are already damaged. You should be able to pull them out once the splines are clear of the hole.

To install, you need a spacer such as an old (much bigger hole) lugnut or a suitable sized socket. Use another lugnut to "pull" the studs in place. Final tightening can be done when you reinstall the wheel.
