Subject: broken speedo and Vaccum pump

broken speedo and Vaccum pump Hello, here are thepictures of the broken speedo. Symptoms were no odometer or trim odometer working. I found the reason but it wont last.Isuspect resetting the trip meter while driving ,may , under some circumstances, cause the appatratus to break.Early sjpeedos had a cover ovder this gear which prevented it form dislodging. I am going toglue a plastic cover over the gear to prevent this.A post earlier this week said to frill ahose intehshaft on the opposite end. I see no shaft there. It ends part way across the speedo, and is way inside. this vaccum pump willworkintermittantly. I blow intotheend andit may dislodge the piston from TDC.Then it will work one time.Is this caused by corrosion from disuse? http://pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/rogersisler2000/album?.dir=/4796re2&.src=ph&.tok=phGvhvFBsd5cVrps
