I hear what your saying but still stick to what I said. You are saying looking at your van you don't see rust. That may be so, and I'm happy for you. I however think if you looked closer you'd find some, even if it's just a small patch. This all said what I said was in regards to the PA/NJ/NY area. This area is well known for rust. My own van I'd say is very clean but I go very much out of my way to keep it so.

The ebay add said the van goes very well in the snow or something to that effect. Well if your in the snow in Phily your getting salt on your van. Phily uses it around with NJ. That also doesn't mean it's no brainer for rust but it sure seems likely even if you don't see it bubbling it's there. you could however drive it out west or South and I'm sure whatever rust had/has started would slow down considerable.

Joe,

Some day, my van may become rusty, no doubt it will. My comment is in answer to the statement made that anyone claiming to have a Rust Free anything is full of it. I don't live in a vacuum. I live in north Alabama. Anyone on the list (and anyone else for that matter) is welcome to go through my 90 van and see if they can find any rust. I can't.

My 83 diesel westy has rust staining coming through a repaired area between the rear wheel arch and the sliding door, down low on the car and in a seam, but it's pretty obvious that's because of the quality of the repair, and it's a small area. There's no floor or fender rust anywhere on this 23 year old car, but I wouldn't claim that car to be rust free. But my 90 is.

Like I say, anyone's welcome to look.

Jim
