What Nathaniel writes was VERY close to my experience when I imported a syncro from Germany into
Nova Scotia (Dec 2005).  One additional item for NS is that the Registry of Motor Vehicles wanted
a translation of the German bill of sale and an affidavit that I had legally exported the vehicle
and that I was the legal owner.  The CDN customs officials did NOT require a European export
permit, I did not have one, and I just told the officials that 'this is not going to happen'.
