Sounds like the North Van Dealer is too lazy to bother getting them from
either the Vancouver Depot (I know, only one in stock there) or Toronto
Depot - they are tied into the same system as the dealer here in Ventura, CA
and would see the same results as my contact at VWOA. I wonder what they do
if they have a VOR (Vehicle Off-Road) situation when a VW is on the repair
rack? Back in the good ole days when a situation like that happened, a
Dealer-Issued VOR request would have the parts needed to repair the vehicle
overnight (provided a depot in the VWOA area had the items in stock).
I happen to have a very good connection with the Inventory Management people
at VWOA in Michigan - they manage all of the supply depots in both Canada &
the USA and have the supply status at their fingertips (ie: computerized
Master Inventory for all depots). It does come in handy at times when
customers on the phone need something now and I can't send that something
fast enough to get them truly out of a bind.
I'd still call BD and see what they can do for you (the usual disclaimers,
etc.).
Cheers back ;)
