Here's what I did before heading to Syncro de Mayo '04: I asked my mechanic here in Boulder, Verner, and he said there were 4 hoses most likely to fail in his experience, so I bought spares and carried them: 251 121 072A 025 121 058G 025 121 058J 025 121 058D One is the R head to the T and the others around the oil cooler and thermostat. Of course, by carrying them, I had no trouble.... Just last month I had the Syncro in for a coolant flush--and hose check--and Verner replaced the 072A hose (above) and the one from the L head 025 121 058M, as well as the little 7mm pieces connecting to the coolant "ring" around the deck opening. This on an '87 Syncro with 127K miles and original hoses. Maybe other mechanics with lots of experience could confirm or disagree with this. Richard A Jones Boulder, Colorado |
