That first picture - that's how you end up by the time you make it to the tollbooth on the Coquihalla Canyon hill when driving an air-cooled vanagon. Reminds me of a story from Newfoundland - a woman was riding the Newfy "Bullet" - a very small and slow narrow-gauge train that once ran across the island and was forever being displaced by rutting moose. At one point a woman in a panic told the conductor that she was going into labour. The conductor grew angry with her, telling her she never should have gotten on the bullet in her condition. She replied "But sorr, I weren't in this condition when I got on!" Riding an air cooled is kinda like that.
