Hi Chris,

For interest's sake (so to speak) I consulted the inflation calculator at http://www1.jsc.nasa.gov/bu2/inflateCPI.html and input in a cost of 340 with a date of 1971. The inflation-adjusted result of that high-top expressed in 2004 dollars works out to $1,585.76.

Seems to me it would me more cost-effective to bring in one of Jeffrey's German imports. Particularly as that $340 doesn't include the cost of labour.
