I recently used seam sealant all over my van, worked great but I used the Napa brand and it never set up to harden so be sure to use the 3M brand and use it at the proper temperature. When I used the stuff I think it was about 10 degrees below it's recommended temp. Be sure to tape off seam area, this stuff gets really messy, it must be worked with very quickly before it sets up. I too used some clear sealant on certain areas on the van and has worked great.
