Thanks all for the info re VW machine shops, but I'm getting a lot of advice to not even go there. One fellow over at Samba dropped 500 into rebuilding his only to have to buy a new head 20,000 K later. I notice over at Bus depot that they have reman heads for a very good price. Anyone with experience with these heads? Is it always a given that you replace heads as a set?
