reminds me of a funny story....

Was on the way to a beach/park get together in summer with friend. On the way there, I told her of how Westy owners (most anyways) wave to each other when driving. She found this interesting, and even witnessed a fellow owner/operator even driving by and waving. She admired how Westy owners were so friendly.

After the get together, we got into the van and idled out of the park along with the rest of the traffic. Soon after, I could hear the distinct sound of a VW horn. I assumed it was a fellow Westy owner honking, instead of waving. "Ah. A new twist to the wave" I thought. Well it wasn't some other van. It was mine. The horn was getting busy. All by itself. And it got busier. Soon it wasn't just when turning corners, but when changing lanes. Of course, it was really f'ing hilarious for a short while, (such a pathetic sound; the vintage VW horn barely making its' connection. "Eee-p. Eeee-e--p") but soon became realling annoying for others and unnerving for me. Regardless......

A week later, my beach buddy said "go see it "Little Miss Sunshine". It's funny, but can't tell you anymore than that". I did. I laughed my bag off. Anyhow....

I think the less than warm weather has kept some Vanagons "inside". This may be one reason why you haven't seen too many. That and the threat of the "Interupting Horn".

Cheers,

Neil.
