Now I have a question for you or anyone else on the list who imports parts from
Europe.
I have a Trumatic e-1800 propane heater in my '90 Westy, that has stopped working. The
heater, not the Westy. It is made by Truma in Germany. They were never sold in North
America and this is a superseded model.
Everything works as it should right up to and including ignition and burn, but the
signal from the flame rectification electrode is not getting to wherever it is
supposed to go to tell the igniter to stop sparking and the burner to keep burning, so
everything shuts down.
So, IF (and that's a big IF) I could identify what parts I need, such as a flame
rectification electrode and the controller board, and they would have to come from the
model that replaced this one, the E-2400, and if they are backward compatible, could
you get them???
Or even a complete new Trumatic E-2400 (and we are talking big bucks here)?
Truma in Germany and their distributor in the UK have not been very helpful.
I just don't want to start all over with a new install of a Propex under the seat.
The Trumatic fits in the little compartment to the left of the fridge, requires only
one hole in the floor, few other modifications and you can still close the door (after
slight mod to the door :)). It also has two fan speeds/heat levels and uses only .6
amp on low.

Any help from anyone would be appreciated. Once you have a furnace in your Westy, it's
hard to go back to cold-weather camping without one.
