Subject: 90 GL for sale (not mine) + Eurovan in the boneyard
Content-Type: text/plain; charset=ISO-8859-1

The 90 GL that I was thinking about buying is still for sale. Long and short, decided to spend the $$ elsewhere as I don't really need another one (did I just say that?). Not mine, but I looked it over and test drove it and can tell what I know.

Runs well, shifts real well. Had cooling problems which were tracked down to loose clamps on the hard pipes. Rebuilt AVP engine w/ about 50k on it. Clean. Has been kept under a cover, front quarter window missing (have replacement that I can sell him). Interior in OK shape. Missing rear carpet, center seat not bolted down. Torn rear seat where it latches on the side. Front seats have a couple small holes. Crappy window tint (purple). Some seam rust, a little surface -- see the pics. Brakes work well, but right rear squeaks as if it's needing replacement. Didn't check.

Located in Norfolk, Virginia. Seller wants $1800, firm. Has not been inspected since early last year, although the owner puts plates on it every month or so and "runs it around the neighborhood". No lifter rattle.

There's a 93 Eurovan in the local yard. Instrument cluster is gone, but most of the rest is there, including interior. Anyone know if Eurovan front seat rails will bolt into a Vanagon?
