Subject: blown out oil passage plug!
Content-Type: text/plain; format=flowed

My wife started the van and she said she heard "a noise" so she checked the dash and the oil light as blinking. Looked underneath and saw a small "cap" and alot of oil. Looked in the factory manual and it seemed to look like one of the plugs behind the drive plate. I inspected anothe engine with a piston knock that i have and sure enough , the little cap fits exactly at the end of an oil passage! when I started the van up to move (only briefly ) the thing bled oil like a stuck pig. Ive got a plug coming from the dealer, but im worried about intallation procedures. Any special tools? How about a pipe plug? Is the fact that ours blew a bad sign of other problems?

Thanks
