Yep, dropping the pan is how it's done. Don't get that stuff in your
mouth, it tastes very, very unpleasant. Personally, I'd pump as much
as possible out the fill hole, then drop the pan. Actually, I've found
that the absolute easiest way to drain it is to turn it sideways and
pour it all out the hole-- but unless you already have it out of the
vehicle and separated from the AT unit and engine, that's easier said
than done..
