Jamie; I have a habit of picking up any type of old camper/camping books/ magazines. A Popular Mechanics issue from 1971 has an article on home building a high top camper van. It features the construction of this "adventurewagen" type top with some cross section drawings etc. If you are comfortable with a small building project and saving a couple thousand this may be for you. I think the top is constructed aircraft style with spars, marine plywood, mesh end caps on the corners and then completely fiber glassed. For information I'd have to scan and put on my yahoo briefcase. Or type out the instructions, less the detail drawings..... If you see "High Top Plans" for sale on the Samba it's me... Just kidding. I would be happy to provide a copy for interested person. It seems this type of home-built inventiveness is getting lost in our "buy it now" culture. Myself included. Good luck, Chris C 90 mv
