one thing to note ...

the rear wheel studs/nuts for stock wheels ARE THE SAME on all vanagons 1981-1992 as the T2 buses from 1971-1979.

yup. same length and part number: 211-501-627A "wheel mounting bolt, L=34,5mm"

now, note that it is ONLY from 1971 onwards. 1968-1970 had the older style wheels and bolts.

also, while you're at the junkyard or FLAPS, the castegated nut that goes on the end of the axle is also the same from 1971 to 1992 ... N-901-496-01 "nut, slotted M30x1,5"

so if the local guy won't/can't find it in his book for "vanagons", ask him to see if he has anything for the older 1971-1979 "buses".

hope it helps. good luck! unca joel
