I'll add to that just a tad ... Back in the '50s I put a '48 Merc flathead into a '31 Model A that had only 54,000 miles on it. Yeah, it worked but I've been kicking myself ever since for messing up a nice car. That said, I've made a few minor mods to my westy and will likely make more like cutting holes for flush mounted lighting and such. And ... maybe at some future date ... install a propex furnace.
