Hi all.

Thanks for responses to my last lifter question. Still
need to be clear on something though....

I preloaded "soft" lifter which took play out. When
set to orig. adj. it was noisy again. I will try
driving it longer (40 min.) this way to see if lifter
goes back to normal. (has done this in past). But if
not.....

If I preload lifter and leave it that way, in theory
and all things being equal, is there enough travel
internally in lifter so that it will keep "self
adjusting"?  i.e. it won't start keeping the valve
partially open if it pressurizes back to orig specs?

Sorry, but having trouble wrapping my brain around
this......
