I have a german VW magazine (since I am in Germany) with an article
about a beetle body put onto a porcshe 916 chassis.
This car was done in the 1970s, when the 1302 changed to the 1303
beetle. Only on second look one would see the different proportions of
the body (especially the wheelwells) in contrast to a stock beetle.
So the idea of combining two different cars is not new.
