Hey Jeremy,

Don't forget to fill your tank at the last possible place before entering Death Valley! While you can get gas in the park at Furnace Creek and Stovepipe Wells, expect it to be around $4 a gallon. If going down US 95, fill in Tonopah if you plan to go in the north end (Scotty's Castle). List members can usually scam a free cup of Sumatra coffee if you inquire where you see the 2 '85 Vanagons halfway between Tonopah and Scotty's Junction. If you're traveling US 395, you'll have to make your own coffee and I think Lone Pine is the last (reasonable) gas! Also, try and make it to the Christmas Day parade in Furnace Creek - - unique!

Hey folks,

Haven't posted for a long time now... used to live in Minneapolis, moved to Boise about 1.5 years back. Survived two summers in Boise with no A/C, but it's all good. There is some wonderful camping to be had near Boise.

Just wanted to say my wife, me, and the Mystery Machine are planning to travel to Death Valley departing Boise on the 23rd of December, planned arrival at Death Valley Sunday or Monday. Plan to be in the vicinity for the week, then head back to Boise starting Saturday the 30th. Christmas in Death Valley, how festive!

If anybody else is thinking about traveling to "the valley" that week please let me know... maybe we can cross paths. If anybody's made this trip i'd be glad to hear your impressions, opinions, and suggestions.

Regards,

-jspeer
